Janet L. Dempsey, 77, of Washington, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at her home following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Dempsey was born Sep 8, 1933, in Washington, the daughter of Joe and Edna Mae (Woods) Simmering. Surviving are one daugher, Susan K. Dempsey of Washington; two sons, Daniel J. Dempsey and wife Ruby of Riverside, and Jason D. Dempsey of Washington; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother Norman E. Simmering and wife Betty Ruth of Bartonville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
