BRIGHTON - Golda M. Bartlett died Friday morning at Nelson Nursing Home. She was 102.
Bartlett was born March 30, 1885, in Poweshiek County, the daughter of Clint and Emma Tish Benson. She married Roscoe Bartlett Feb. 26, 1906, in Grinnell. He died Jan. 10, 1943.
Bartlett was a Brighton telephone operator for several years, was a member of the Brighton Christian Church and the Willing Workers Club. She had been a resident at Nelson Nursing Home since February 1979.
She is survived by one daughter, Goldie Benda of Fairfield. In addition to her husband, Bartlett was preceded in death by one son Orren, two brothers and four sisters.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton with the Rev. Virgil Blosser officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
