Robert 'Bob' Dickinson

Robert Lee "Bob" Dickinson, 64, of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness.

The funeral is scheduled at 1:30 pm Wednesday at Jones Eden Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Cluney officiating. Burial will be in Crawfordsville Cemetery in Crawfordsville.

Visitation began at noon today at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m.

A general memorial has been established.

Mr. Dickinson was born March 16, 1941, in Washington, the son of Gerald and Esther Patterson Dickinson. He married Janet Haige March 5, 1967, in Washington.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1959.

He lived in the Fairfield area until he moved to Washington where he lived most of his adult life.

He worked as a cutter assistant at the McCleery Cumming Company in Washington for 27 years.

He attended the Assembly of God Church in Washington.

He served in the National Guard while in Fairfield and the Army Reserve in Washington.

Survivors include his wife of Washington; two brothers Dick Dickinson of Ottumwa and Ron Dickinson of Corvallis, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
