Bernard Hermann

Bernard Frederick Hermann, 85, of Fairfield, died at 1:37 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2005, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Graveside service is at 2 p.m. today at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, with the Rev. Marvin Robeck officiating.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association. Cards and memorials may be sent c/o Penny Boatright, 2282 240th St., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. Hermann was born Dec. 21, 1919, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Fred and Rosanna Hammen Hermann. He married Betty Van Winkle. She died in 1990.

He was a farmer and a welder employed by Fenn Implement in Washington and Johnson Fabricting in Iowa City.

Survivors include one sister, Catherine Lee of Tipton, Mich.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ambrose Hermann; and one sister, Dorothy Pohlman.
