Dallas Hesseltine

Dallas Hesseltine, 78, of Brighton died at 10:01 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Brighton United Church with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will be in Crawfordsville Cemetery.

Open visitation began at 2 p.m. and the family will be present from 6-7:30 p.m. today at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton.

Memorials have been established for Brighton United Church or Polishville Cemetery Association.

Mr. Hesseltine was born Feb. 2, 1923, in Crawfordsville, the son of Frank and Dora Mae Parker Hesseltine.

He was raised on the family farm and lived with family until 1990.

He worked as a farm hand. He moved to Brighton in 1948. He mowed yards in Brighton community for many years.

He was a member of Brighton United Church.

He was honored as the Whoopee Days parade grand marshall in 2000.

Survivors include two brothers, Robert Hesseltine of Brighton and John Hesseltine of Richland; two sisters, Gladys Lowe of Brighton and Cahterine Harris of Washington, Iowa; and his guardian and sister-in-law, Marilyn Crandall.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 13 brothers and sisters.
