Rites for McWilliams

Charles J. McWilliams, 95, father of Wendell E. McWilliams, 809 S. Fourth, died Saturday in Kirwin, Kan.

Graveside rites will be Tuesday morning at Greenwood Cemetery near Kirwin, conducted by the IOOF Lodge of Phillipsburg, Kan. Memorials are to a children's home in Kansas.

The son ov Chester A. and Kate Barr McWilliams, he was born Aug. 15, 1883 in Washington.

He was married to Calista E. Carpenter in the early 1900s. She died in 1954.

He lived most of his earlier years in Columbus Junction where he was a painter and a decorator. He and his wife moved to Kansas in the late 1930s. In later years helived with his youngest daughter, Mary (Mrs. Bob) Kincaid in Kirwin.

He is survived by six children, Dr. Walter McWilliams, Wapello, Vincent C. McWilliams, Pharr, Texas, Wendell E. McWilliams, Fairfield, Elizabeth (Mrs. Marshall) Noble, Hollister, Mo., and Mary (Mrs. Bob) Kincaid, Kirwin, Kan. One son, Arthur H. is deceased.

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
