Mrs. Ernest Smith dies here Sunday

Mrs. Ernest Smith, 81, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 1963 at her home, 1122 East Third Street. She had been in failing health the past six months.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Sherman-Eden Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lloyd Latta in charge. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Carrie A. Gowey was born near Brighton June 10, 1882, a daughter of Edgar and Minerva Atwood Gowey. She was reared in Brighton and married June 10, 1903 to Ernest E. Smith. She had lived here the past sixty years and was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are her husband, one son, Larence of Moline, Ill., four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Frank Gray and one brother, Fred Gowey, both of Washington

Smith.---Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie A. Smith were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Sherman-Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd Latta in charge, Pallbearers were Willard G. Gray, Willard E. Gray, Chester Eatinger, Clifford Eatinger, George Hindahl and Harry Bolleau. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery.
