Smith Riley Dies From Horse Kick

Man Injured A Week Ago Died At Washington County Hospital

Smith Riley, a resident of Grace Hill and formerly of Washington, died last night at the county hospital, as the result of being kicked on the head by a horse last week while working on the Mrs. John McKinstry farm west of town.

Mr. Riley had lived in Washington county for quite a number of years. He at one time lived in the south west part of town, but traded his home there for a place at Grace Hill. He leaves one son, Fred Riley of Paola, Kansas, and also a brother in Kansas. He was about 65 or 70 years of age.

Funeral services had not been definitely planned this morning, awaiting word from the son, who may be able to attend the funeral, which will probably be on Thursday.
