HERRON, LONG, GRIFFIN, SALING

Hilbert HERRON, 57, postmaster at Blairstown and formerly of the Wyman community, died at 9 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 1972, in St Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids where he was admitted Wednesday. He had been ill for several months. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Blairstown. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near there.

Mr. HERRON was born September 28, 1915, the son of Hugh and Carrie LONG HERRON. He was a graduate of Wyman High School. He had been in the postal service over 25 years and had lived at Blairstown for 27 years.

Surviors include his wife Eleanor, one son Hilbert Hugh (Butch) HERRON at Minneapolis three brothers: Merle of Minneapolis, Homer of Colona, Ill., and Richard of Alexis, Ill. Mrs. Claire GRIFFIN and Miss Mary JO SALING of Washington are cousins of Mr. HERRON.
