Maxine Jones, 55, of Crawfordsville dies in Iowa City.

Mrs. David (Maxine) Jones, 55, of Box 133, Crawfordsville, died Saturday, March 15, 1981, at University Hospitals, Iowa City. She had been ill the past six months.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Sherman-Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Brown and Terry Anglea officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. a memorial has been established for the American Cancer society in honor of Mrs. Jones. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Jones was born May 29, 1925, at Ainsworth, the daughter of Marvin and Irene Roth Buck. She was reared and educated at Ainsworth. In September of 1958 she married David Jones at Moline, Ill.

She enjoyed outdoor life.

Survivors include her husband, David of Crawfordsville; one son, Randy Jones, at home; three daughters, Nancy and Diane Jones, both at home; and Mrs. Don (Sue) Glenn of Ainsworth; three step-sons, John Jones of Nauvoo, Ill., Robert Jones of Iowa City; Max Jones of Hills; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Larry (Frances) Schooley of Washington; Mrs. Wayne (Carolyn) Swank of Kismet, Kan.; Mrs. Lawrence (Donna) Cunningham of Keokuk; Mrs. David (Hattie) Behrens of Harlan; Miss Ramona Jones of Baton Rouge, La.; 20 step-grandchildren; one step great-granddaughter; four brothers, Francis James of Fairfield; Marvin Buck Jr. of Ainsworth, Richard Buck of Washington, and Dale Buck of Ainsworth; four sisters, Mrs. John (Helen) Johnson of Washington; Mrs. Robert (Grace) Moore of Tupelo, Miss., Mrs. Harlan (Mary Lu) Edgar of Crawfordsville; and Mrs. Stan (Katie) Kiesey of Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents, one step-son and one step-daughter.
