Charles F. Fish, 54 Dies This Morning

Charles Frederick Fish, 54, of 828 South Avenue C, died at his home this morning. Mr. Fish had been in poor health for the past five years. He was in the Veterans hospital in Des Moines for several weeks earlier this year.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, August 16, at Sherman's funeral home.

Rev. W. J. Stevens will be in charge with burial in Elm Grove cemetery.

Born in Junction

Mr. Fish was born Jan. 1, 1897, in Columbus Junction, Iowa. He was the son of Robert G. and Rose Kerns Fish.

He was reared and educated in Columbus Junction and Washington, attending school here.

On November 20, 1926 he was married to Eva Riley who survives him. He has lived in Washington since boyhood. Since 1942 he had worked in the crossing tower for the Milwaukee railroad here. He was a veteran of World War I.

Besides his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert of Wichita, Kansas and Charles E. of Washington; one daughter, Anita, of Washington; a step-mother, Mrs. Bertha Fish of Muscatine; one brother, Elmer Fish of Muscatine; two half-brothers, Rex Fish of Newark, Ill., and Neil Fish of Cleveland, Ohio.
