C. H. EDWARDS DIES AT HOSPITAL TODAY
VERDI RESIDENT'S DECEASE FOLLOWS OPERATION AT JEFFERSON CO. HOSPITAL TODAY

C. H. Edwards of a mile northwest of the Verdi station, died this morning at 9:30 at the Jefferson county hospital in Fairfield where he had been for the last three weeks. He underwent operations for appendicitis and ulceration of the stomach. For sometime before being taken to the hospital he had been in ill health.

He was forty years of age and leaves his widow, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Messenger of Washington, and two children, Raymond, aged 6 years, and Gerald, 3 years of age. His father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Edwards, are residents of this county, as are a brother, David Edwards of Harve, and two sisters, Mrs. David Riley of Brighton and Mrs. Charles Griffin of southwest of the city.

Arrangements for the funeral service have not been made, and announcement of the burial plans will be made probably tomorrow.

Edwards. ---- The funeral of C. H. Edwards was held yesterday afternoon at two o'clock at the Wilber Miller chapel conducted by the Rev. D. I. Coon of the Baptist Church. Miss Hazel Jones of the Baptist church sang a very pretty solo. Interment was in Elm Grove cemetery. The pallbearers were W. G. Stewart, David Riley, John Messenger, Jr., Glenn Powers, Charles Griffin and George Williams.
