MERLE F. BAILEY SERVICES FRIDAY
WASHINGTON MAN DIED YESTERDAY AFTER ILLNESS OF 4 YEARS

Merle F. Bailey, 46 years old, died yesterday afternoon, after 4 years of failing health.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the L. A. Jones funeral home, with burial at Elm Grove cemetery.

Mr. Bailey was born here July 19, 1888, a son of Willard and Mary (Varner) Bailey. He was married to Dora Ziegler, March 25, 1924.

Surviving him are his widow and three sisters, Mrs. Claude Flynn of Riverside, Mrs. John Mintier of Fontanelle, Iowa and Mrs, Edna Webb of Santa Ana, Calif.

Three sisters are deceased. They are Mrs. J. N. Phillips, Mrs. Charles Cunningham and Cora Bailey. A daughter, Ann, died August 22 of this year, aged 6 years.

Mr. Bailey was a member of the Washington Odd Fellows lodge and had taken an active part in the work of that organization.
