George N. Yoder, 94, of Wellman, died Sunday Jan 4, 2009, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a short illness.

Mr. Yoder was born Feb 19, 1914, in rural Wellman, the son of Arthur G. and Lydia (Swartzendruber) Yoder. He married Leona byler on Jan 9, 1938, at Upper Deer Creek Mennonite Church.

Surviving are four children, John Arthur Yoder and wife Marilyn of Wellman, Carroll Yoder and wife Judy of Wellman, Judy Moskalik and husband Robert of Coldwater, Mich., and Alan Yoder and wife Lynda of Davenport; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Esther; his wife; three sons, Jerold Yoder, Lowell Yoder, and George C. Yoder; one grandson; his twin brother, Gideon M. Yoder; one adopted brother, Willis "Bud" Reber; and one adopted sister, Doris Reber Yoder.
