Leonard Michael "Fos" Fosdick, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday May 1, 1994, at his home of pancreatic cancer. He was born Dec 30, 1925, in Keota, to Charles Alphonsus and Eva Anna Palm Fosdick. He married Dolores Lucille West, on Sep 27, 1952 in Des Moines. He was a WWII Navy veteran, member of St Pius X Catholic Church, the Knights of Coulumbus #909, and the Cedar Rapids Elks Lodge #251 BPOE. He was a longtime IBEW union member and a retiree of Rockwell-Collins after 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores "DoDo", two daughters, Michele Westrope, husband Jerry and daughter, Angie Shevik of Leawood, Kansas, Anita Robledo, husband Mike and daughters Denise and Melissa of Downey, Calif., four sons, John, wife Connie, and two children, Amanda and Joe of Marion, Jim, wife Janet, and three children Jenny, Jamie and John, Mike Fosdick, and Tom Fosdick all of Cedar Rapids; two step-grandchildren, Sheila Westrope Johnson, husband Avery, and daughter Hayli of Johnson City, Tenn., and Katrina Robledo Nielson and daughter Samantha of Downey, Calif., three brothers, Richard and wife Bette of Texas City, Tex., Gerald and wife Marion of Maquoketa, Francis and wife Irene of Burleson, Tex., three sisters, Marcella Monaghan of Marion, Kay Fulrath of Cedar Rapids, Sister Anita of Davenport, and thirty four nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Lambert and Donald.
Services are Wednesday (today) May 4, 1994, at 11:00AM at St Pius X Catholic Church by Rev Donald Klein and Monsignor Edmund Becker. Burial will be at the Mt Calvary Cemetery With military graveside services. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be said tonight at 6:00PM and a prayer service will be held at 7:00PM at Teahen Funeral Home where friends may call from 1:30 to 8:30PM and from 9:30 to 10:15AM on Wednesday.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a skilled craftsman and the family has for many years enjoyed the fruits of his labor, the beautiful furniture in their home.
A memorial fund has been established.
