Palmyra Methodist Church

Does anyone know where I might find the church records of the Palmyra Methodist Episcopal Church? The Methodist archives in Mt. Pleasant doesn't have the records even though we know people who remember that the records were first transferred to that location. The Palmyra church was organized in Oct. 29, 1853. At one point, the church was about to close, but the Carlisle Methodist Church sort of took it over. Finally, the Palmyra church was placed on the national Register of Historic Places of the US National Park Service in October of 1979. The building was restored at that time. There is no regular congregration at the church these days, but the building is used for meetings occasionally throughout the year. It is possible that the Palmyra records are under the Carlisle Methodist records.
