Camp, George Washington
Born 25 Dec, 1845 in Germany, died 23 Nov, 1897 in Denver Colorado. Served in the
18th Regiment Iowa Vol. Inf. Co.G, mustered Jan.4, 1864, in Warren, County Iowa. When he got out he married in Doniphan County Kansas in 1867.
This is all that I have found out on him before he married here in kansas. I would like to know where he was in Warren county before he served. I found a Camp, GW, lawyer, in Lansing in the 1862 US IRS Tax list. This could be him. There is a George Camp in the 1860 Census, White Breast twp living with a David Williams family. He is listed as being born in Germany. So how did he get to Iowa and when and with whom??? I have found 11 other families that list him on Ancestry, and none of them have any more information. I think I am the first to place him in Iowa!

I
Thank you for your time!
