Loren George Peters, 24, a Norwalk graduate and student at Iowa State University, passed from this life on Monday, October 17, 2011.
He was in the third year of his quest to obtain an Aerospace Engineering Degree at ISU. Loren leaves behind those who enjoyed his quick wit and funny comments. His many interests included scuba diving, flying airplanes, canoeing, camping, and spending time with family. He also studied and enjoyed Martial Arts and played the guitar.
Survivors include his father, Kevin Peters of Norwalk, sister, Jennifer and niece, Ashlee Peters of West Des Moines. He will be sadly missed by great-grandmother, Mary Sheesley, grandparents, Velma and George Peters, grandmother, Sandra Kennedy, great-Aunts Vivian Sheesley and Marietta Anderson, Uncle Kurt (Sheri) and cousins, Amanda and Callie Peters, aunt Kimberly Lewis (Sean) and cousins Hailey, Dalton and Brody, all residing in West Des Moines, and many other relatives and friends.
Services for Loren will be held on Thursday, October 20, at 11 a.m. at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
