LeRoy James Brown, age 69, passed away September 30, 2011 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Born in Albert City, Iowa, he had lived around Carlisle for most of his life. LeRoy had been a mechanic for Firestone Tire and Rubber.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle with burial in Avon Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, also at the funeral home.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Kay Brown. Surviving are daughter, Debbie (John) Haus of Des Moines; sisters, Delores (Vernie) Killen of Carlisle and Patty Hase of Dubuque; brothers, Larry (Nellie) Brown of Carlisle and Ron (Sherrie) Brown of West Point; many nieces and nephews and special, four legged companion of 14 years, "Cookie".
