Cassandra “Soleil” Bonaventura, 17, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at her home. Memorial services will be held 6 p.m. Monday at McLaren's Chapel.
Soleil was born in Fort Lauderdale, FL and had lived in the Des Moines area the last 12 years. She had attended Norwalk High School and Dowling Catholic School and was currently a student at Johnston High School.
Soleil loved to play soccer, play with her siblings, shop and laugh with her friends and help others in need. She was empathetic and loved to make others happy. Soleil had been accepted to DMACC and was planning on transferring to the University of Iowa to study marketing.
Soleil is survived by her mother and step-father, Katia Lin and Greg Foust; father, Craig Bonaventura; four brothers, Christian (Zander) Beal, Cebastian (Jack) Foust, Calvin (Zack) Foust and Carlos Bonaventura; sister, Camille Evy Lin Foust; grandparents, Steve and Edna Lin of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Steve and Sharon Foust of Indianola, IA; great-grandparents, Rong Sheng Lin and Chang Yau Lin of Richmond, TX; four aunts; four uncles; and eight cousins.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm. Monday at McLaren's Chapel prior to the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Animal Rescue League.
