Diane Lynn Jones
(December 19, 1954 - February 19, 2023)Funeral services for Diane Lynn Jones, 68, who passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Overton Funeral Home, with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Diane is survived by her husband of 47 years, Marvin Jones; father, Glenn Davey; brothers, Chuck Davey and Larry (Jennifer) Davey, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Carol Louise Davey and sister-in-law, Sally Davey. Diane grew up in Indianola, surrounded by extended family. Those early bonds became life devotions, and Diane remained dedicated to her family for the rest of her days. She lived a life of love and offered so much to so many: a listening ear; a warm hug; a word of encouragement; a laugh; a trip down memory lane; a heartfelt gift. Diane attended Emerson Elementary and graduated from Indianola High School in 1973, where she developed lifelong friendships and an appreciation for learning. Following graduation, she was employed at Wellmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield, where she achieved 46 years of dedicated service and developed even more deep friendships.
Most importantly, Diane had a strong relationship with Christ. As a child, she came to know the Lord in a personal way. She loved praise and worship music and became involved in music ministries at an early age, playing the organ and piano at church. She would also play piano for Sunday services at the Indianola nursing homes. Before her health began to decline, Diane sang on the praise and worship team at Indianola Community Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to the Indianola Community Church Music Department.
