(December 10, 1935 - March 20, 2023)

Doyle Rankin, 87, of Woodburn, Iowa, who passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 24, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola. Inurnment will take place at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial, Omaha, Nebraska, at a later date. Doyle Rankin lived his long and productive life on his own terms. You would be hard pressed to find a person who put more heart, energy, and commitment into their endeavors. Whether he was driving all night hauling trailers, buying and selling farms and livestock, or raising horses, the effort Doyle put into his ambitions was unrivaled. Ever the deal maker but always fair, he touched the people in his life with his spontaneous generosity.
Doyle was born in Lacona, Iowa and served in the United States Army. He lived in several states before settling in his home state of Iowa. Doyle had a dry wit mixed with country charm that those closest to him would see through his no-nonsense attitude. He loved to work, ride horses, and attend Rankin family Christmases. He found peace in his faith and had love in his heart for his family and friends.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Suzie; children, Rachel Smith, Beth (Tyler) Loy, Todd Rankin; grandchildren, Grace Loy and Jack Loy; siblings, Clair (Lois) Rankin, Mary (Germain) Dittmer, Jim (Susie) Rankin, Neil (Andi) Rankin, Les (Diane) Rankin, and Betty (Bob) Hugen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chet and Ruth Rankin; siblings, Donnie Rankin and Elsie Krpan.
