Elizabeth Pitsenberger Nyswonger, daughter of Jacob and Susan Pitsenberger, was born at Montgomery county, Ohio, October 6, 1843, and passed away December 1, 1918, at her home in Lacona, aged seventy-five years, one month and twenty-five days.
She with her parents moved to Darke county, Ohio, in her early childhood days. She was united in marriage to Hiram Nyswonger, September 18, 1862, who preceded her in death nearly two years ago.
To this union were born eight children, six sons and two daughters: Alfred H. C., of Hartline Wash.; Sarah Frances Stemm, of near Lacona; Wm. H., of Hanford, Calif.; Charles N., having passed away in infancy; Jas. Clark, of near Lacona; Carrie B. Barger, of Denver, Colo.; Tyler D., of near Indianola, and Clyde E., who also passed away in infancy. She with her husband moved to Warren county, Iowa, in the year of 1865. They united with the Christian church in their early life. In later years they united with the re-organized church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of which she was a faithful member.
She leaves to mourn her departure, four sons and two daughters, twenty-five grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Elder Columbus Scott, at the Graceland church, December 6, 1918. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the Graceland cemetery.
