OBITUARY

James W. Dixon

James W. Dixon was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia July 24, 1853 and passed away at his home in Warren County, September 30, 1920 at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 6 days.

In 1875 he moved to Illinois, coming from there to Warren County, Iowa in 1876, where he resided until death called him.

He was converted and baptized in the Presbyterian church when but a child and remained a faithful follower until his death.

In 1879 he was united in marriage to Susannah Strain; to this union were born three children, Jennie M. Chumbley of Warren County; M. Inez Chumbley of Liberty, Iowa, and Robert who is at home.

He has been a patient sufferer for the past five years. He was ready and willing to meet his Master in that Great Beyond.

He was a loving father and kind neighbor, always ready to help those in need.

He is survived by his wife, three children, seven grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 2nd at Bethel Chapel, conducted by Rev. Thomas of Milo. Interment in the Bethel Chapel cemetery.
