Lewis S. Kennedy

The Norwalk Free Press of last week gives an account of the death of Lewis S. Kennedy, one of the old residence of Warren County. Mr. Kennedy died at the home of his sister whom he was visiting in Neosho, MO., Friday, Feb. 14th. He had arranged to start back to this county on that day and two hours before the train left he was stricken and died. Mr. Kennedy was a Pennsylvanian by birth, bring born in Fayette, Pa., June 19th, 1831. He came to Warren County in 1855 and settled near Old Greenbush. He married Nancy Jane Biggs in 1857. She died in Chillacothe, MO., in 1865. To this union were born three children: L. L. Kennedy, of Norwalk; William F., of Gravity; and Mrs. A. G. Henson of Greenfield, IA., On March 10th, 1867 he married Helen A. Ranney. Two sons were born to this union, Charley F. and John F. of Orillia, Iowa. The widow with the children survive him. He was an old soldier, enlisting in 1862 and serving two years, after which he returned to this county and was a resident of it when his death ensued.
