Paul M. Powell

Paul M. Powell, 77, of Indianola, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 1986, of a heart ailment at his home. Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1986 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Presbyterian Church with interment in the Indianola IOOF Cemetery. An Independent Order of Odd Fellows service was held Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the Overton Funeral Home.

Born in Lebanon, Iowa, he had lived in Indianola since 1944. Mr. Powell had been a car salesman for Guy Hornaday Oldsmobile-Buick, Ackley Pontiac and Ruble Motors. Beginning in 1975, he worked as a carpenter primarily doing remodeling work and also sold cemetery spaces for the IOOF Lodge in Indianola. He was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, IOOF Lodge No. 70 and Kiwanis International, where he served as president.

Preceding him in death is a son Kenneth.

Surviving him are his wife, Pauline; two sons, Gary of Santa Rosa, Calif., and David of Indianola; two brothers, Wayne of Newton and Warren of Bethesda, Md.; three sisters, Geneva Jones of Temple, Texas, Kathryn Little of Waco, Texas, and Mary Brumback of Carthage, Ill.; and two granddaughters.
