Celebration of Life Services for Nancy Jean Horton who passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Des Moines, will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Indianola First Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be held prior to services from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church. Nancy was a giver. She gave us her love, her time, amazing food, a hard time, laughs, drinks and the best hugs and kisses. There will never be someone that gave us as much of themselves to others as Nancy did.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Kevin (Shelley) Peterson, Nicole (Jamie) Onken, Thomas (Laura) Peterson, Bradley (Ashley) Peterson, Grant (Heather) Horton, and Adam (Shawna) Horton; grandchildren, Abigail Peterson, Bradley Applegate, Ryan Applegate, Lucas Peterson, Alex Onken, Elsie Onken, Charlotte Gould, Taytem Allbaugh, Bryher Horton, Eloise Onken, Benjamin Peterson, Maxwell Peterson, Elliott Peterson, Lucille Peterson, Beckham Horton and Liam Peterson; mother, Della Miller; siblings, Diane Hougland, Deb Peterson, Rock Miller, Tim Miller, and Nett Schaffer. She preceded in death by her father, Richard Miller; and brother, Rick Miller.

POLK COUNTY CRASH
Nancy Jean Horton, 67, killed in Des Moines two-vehicle accident
DES MOINES, IA, (January 23, 2022) - Nancy Jean Horton, 67, tragically lost her life following a fatal two-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon in Des Moines, Polk County. According to the Des Moines Police Department, the collision took place at the intersection of Fleur Drive and Payton Avenue near the airport. Horton was driving a Cadillac Escalade with two passengers when it was rear-ended by Chrysler Pacifica that was southbound on Fluer Drive at a high rate of speed. Horton was taken to an area hospital with critical injuries, where she died on Thursday. Her two passengers suffered minor injuries. The 24-year-old driver of the Pacifica also sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. The case remains under investigation by the Des Moines Police Department Traffic Unit.
