Marvin "Tony" Leland Putney
(June 27, 1940 - February 18, 2022)

INDIANOLA - Marvin "Tony" Leland Putney, 81, passed away Friday, February 18, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

Marvin was born on June 27, 1940 in Dunkerton, IA to Henry G and Ora Alice (Hymes) Putney. He was united in marriage to Nora Jones on July 2, 1961. Marvin was a heavy equipment operator for Warren County, retiring in 2005 after 23 years and wintered in Arizona. Marvin was a produce vender at the Downtown Des Moines Farmer's Market for 43 years as Putney Homegrown Produce.

He is survived by his wife Nora; children Stacy (Kelly) Putney, Jane (Jeff) Davis, Audrey Putney, and Amanda (Brian) Fox; grandchildren, Cody (Allison) Putney, Kira (Mike) Graf, Jessica (Jeff) Kinkel-Schuster, Shelby Fox, Maria (Blake) Penton,
Ben (Kimberlee) Fox, Tyler Davis and Tess Davis; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Lucas Graf, Blake, Blair and Boone Putney, Ruby and Oliver Davis, Aiden and Peyton Kinkel-Schuster, and three on the way; siblings, Peggy Snider, Ardith Naifeh, Sue Gordon, and Tim Putney. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dennis, Henry Lee, Morris, Larry and Kenneth Putney, and sister, Teresa Rude.
