Obituary
Charles G. Carpenter was born in Buffalo, New York, October 15, 1854, came to McLain County, Illinois in 1888, was married to Sarah Elizabeth Carpenter, October 3rd of the same year. He came to Indianola, Iowa in the fall of 1890, where he lived for twelve years and worked at blacksmithing. Moved to Des Moines in 1901, where he has resided since. He has recently been connected with the Highland Park College where he served as instructor in the engineering department. He died at the Des Moines General Hospital November 26, 1914, of cancer. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah Carpenter, and four children, Mrs. Nellie Nichols, Will Carpenter and Bessie and Mary Carpenter. His body was taken to Indianola for burial.
