Obituary – Mrs. W. M. Judkins
Ella Thompson was born in the state of Pennsylvania, January ninth, eighteen hundred and fifty, and died February second, nineteen hundred and fifteen, aged sixty-five years and twenty-four days. She came to Iowa with parents, John and Mary Thompson, in early childhood and was married to W. M. Judkins December 30, 1869. To this union there were born four children, O. P. Judkins, Mrs. Fannie Graham, of Peoria, Illinois, C. H. Judkins and Mrs. Edna Maxwell, of Indianola. Her husband, two daughters and C. H. Judkins were at her bedside when she departed this life for the better and happier life of the Heaven beyond.
At an early age Mrs. Judkins professed faith in Christ and later united with the First Presbyterian Church of Indianola, Iowa, of which church she was a member at the time of her death. She was a good wife and mother and her greatest concern was for her children and their homes. Surviving her are her husband, four children and seven grandchildren, the grandchildren being Pearl and Royal Graham, of Peoria, Illinois; Dorothy, Helen Winifred and Herbert Judkins, children of C. H. Judkins and Katherine and Duane Judkins, children of Dr. Oliver P. Judkins. The funeral was conducted from the home on North Buxton Avenue, and the Rev. W. Oscar Harless, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Indianola had charge.
Card of Thanks – We wish to take this way of thanking our kind friends and neighbors, who gave so freely of their help and sympathy during the sickness and death of our dear wife and mother. – Wm. M. Judkins, Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Maxwell, C. H. Judkins and Mrs. Fannie Graham
