Hold Funeral For W. DeVore
Funeral services for William Melton DeVore, 75, who died May 9 at his home in New Virginia, were held Wednesday afternoon, May 11, at the Christian Union Church in Milo with the Rev. Delmar Caulkins officiating. Burial was at Indianola. Mr. DeVorre was married to Evalena Bales July 3, 1907, at Milo where they resided for many years, later moving to Lacona, Chariton and Medora. They had lived at New Virginia since 1934. He was a carpenter and was also engaged in the plumbing and heating business. Besides his wife, Mr. DeVore is survived by one son, the Rev. Clifford M. DeVore of Prescott, Mich.; one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Staley of Indianola; four sisters, Halie Robbins, Lulu Hess and Cora Hansen of California, and Dorothy Pittman of Clear Lake; four brothers, Roy of Madison, S. D., Burt of California, Edd of Huron, S. D., and Fred of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
