Omar Elisha Brown, son of Elizah and Emma Jane Brown, was born September 11, 1873, near Woodburn, Iowa. He departed this life at his home in Lacona on May 21, 1952, at the age of 78 years, eight months and 10 days. He moved to Warren County with his parents at the age of six, spending the remainder of his life in and near Lacona. He was the only son in a family of six children. Four sisters have preceded him in death. On October 18, 1894, he was united in marriage to Hattie Freeman, who preceded him in death, November 1949. To this union was born one daughter, Grace. Omar was a conscientious Christian, a loyal husband, and devoted father. At all times he was ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter Grace, one sister, Mrs. Jennie Oxenreider, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Anna Brennan, of Denver, Colo., many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and neighbors.
