Lucy Ellen Scott
(October 7, 1869 – July 6, 1946)

Mrs. Charles Scott
Lucy Ellen, daughter of Isaac and Martha Jamison, was born at Palmyra, Oct 7, 1869, and died at her home July 6, 1946, at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 29 days. She was united in marriage to Charles D. Scott, Dec. 5, 1890. To this union three children were born. They were Mrs. Mabel Putnam and Mrs. Edna Goodale of Indianola and Frank Scott of Beech, who with her husband survive. She also has four grandchildren, Charles Putnam of Indianola, Roy Putnam of Cedar Rapids, Edna Kathryn Hukill of Indianola and Robert Scott of Beech. One great grandchild, Eleanor Putnam and a sister, Mrs. Kate Fuller of Newhall, Iowa, also survive. When a young woman she was converted and joined the Christian Union Church. She was a good and faithful wife and mother and her happiest hours were when her family came home and they could all be together. Her entire life was spent in Warren County, except three years in Nebraska. Most of her life was spent on their farm near Ackworth until they moved to their home in Indianola. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 9, at the Overton Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Walter T. Martin, pastor of the Presbyterian Church.
