Naomi Tyler
(September 23, 1869 – April 12, 1946)

Naomi Connett, daughter of John F. and Margaret Connett, was born Sept. 23, 1869, in Jasper County near Vandalia, and died at her home in Hartford, April 12, 1946, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 20 days. She was the last of 11 children and two half-brothers. She was married May 26, 1887, in Des Moines to William E. Tyler of Centerville. Three children were born to this union: Leonard, Guy, and Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Leonard, and two grandchildren, Peggy Ann and Sidney O. Tyler. Surviving are her daughter, Rose Tyler; son Guy and wife Beatrice; grandchildren, Henry Edward and wife Lillie, Donald Earl, Stephen, Albert and Georgene, Ellen Tyler; nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, April 21, at 2:30 in the Community Church, conducted by the Rev. H. O. Bethel of Hartford. Interment was in the Vandalia Cemetery.
