(July 20, 1896 – April 11, 1946)

Funeral of Mrs. Gail McCaughin Is Held Last Sat.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gail McCaughin, 49, who died Thursday were held Saturday, April 13, at 2:30 at the Overton Funeral Home. The Rev. Walter T. Martin, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, was in charge. Mrs. McCaughin was born July 20, 1896, near Raritan, Ill. In 1904 her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Maynard moved to Warren County and lived on a farm east of town for three years. They then moved to Nebraska where they lived for six years and then returned to Warren County and lived on a farm west of town. Mrs. McCaughin graduated from the Gordon, Nebraska high school and also from the business department of Simpson College. She was employed by Frank P. Henderson, lawyer, for 25 years. She was married Jan. 12, 1917, to Frank McCaughin. They had one son, Maynard, now of Hartford, Conn. Mr. McCaughin lives at Creston. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Christine Maynard; two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Lear of Webster City and Miss Kathleen Maynard of Los Angeles; two brothers, Ernest of Indianola and Gilbert of Iowa City.
