Mrs. Lizzie Noble Dies April 10th
Mrs. Lizzie Noble of Los Angeles, former resident of Indianola, died Wednesday evening, April 10, of a heart attack while attending a dinner at the Emanuel Presbyterian church near her home. She was the wife of the late Scott Noble who was in the hardware business in Indianola for many years. Funeral services were held Saturday in Los Angeles. Services will be held in Indianola in about two weeks according to word received by relatives. Surviving are four sons, Dr. Howard Noble of Los Angeles, who will accompany the body to Indianola; Dr. Merle Noble of Berkeley, Calif.; Dr. Elwood Noble of Long Beach, and Lloyd Noble of Glendale, Calif. Two sisters, Miss Cora Parr and Miss Ida Parr of Des Moines also survive.

Mrs. Elizabeth Parr Noble was born in Indianola Oct. 9, 1870, and died in Los Angeles, April 10, 1946. She spent her girlhood and early womanhood in Indianola where she attended the public schools. She graduated in 1888 from the high school. She taught two years in rural schools of the county and two years in the city schools. She was married to L. Scott Noble June 30, 1892. Mr. Noble was engaged in business in Indianola so they made their home here. Upon the death of Mr. Noble in April 1901, she was left a widow with five small sons. These boys grew to manhood in Indianola, attending the public schools and Simpson College. One of them, Ernest, preceded her in death Sept. 12, 1919. In 1922, two of her sons, having settled in California and the other two soon to be there she moved to California to make her home near them. From girlhood she was a faithful member and worker in the Presbyterian Church, both in Indianola and in Los Angeles. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by four sons, Howard S. of the University of California in Los Angeles, William Merle, a dentist in Berkeley, Thomas Elwood, a doctor in Long Beach, and Loyd S., an attorney and teacher in Glendale, all in California; six grandchildren; two sisters, Ida and Cora Parr of Des Moines; a number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends. Services were held Monday, April 29, at 2 p.m. in the Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. W. J. Martin.
