(July 18, 1926 – April 8, 1946)

Barbara Ailene Town, daughter of Milton and Ethel Town, was born at New Virginia, July 18, 1926, and died at Indianola April 8, 1946, at the age of 19 years, 8 months and 20 days. She moved with her parents to Milo while a young girl and had lived in and around Milo all her life until the last three years when she has been working in Indianola. She received her education in the Milo and Beech public schools. She was baptized March 20, 1932, and joined the Milo Methodist church Feb 9, 1941. She was united in marriage to Wendell Hill at Indianola May 10, 1944, and to this union was born one child. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Jane, her mother, Mrs. Ethel Town, one brother, Dwain, all at home; four sisters, Mrs. Marvel Turnbull of Indianola, Mrs. Virginia Looker of Des Moines, Louise and Mary Jane both at home; three grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hartman of Milo and James Town of Milo; a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and a host of friends. Her father preceded her in death July 10, 1938. The funeral was held Wednesday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at the Milo Methodist church with the Rev. Harold N. Olson in charge. Mrs. Lora Davey and Mrs. Eileen Oldaker sang, with Mrs. Doris Kimzey as pianist. Pallbearers were: Homer Howe, Paul Lafoon, Robert Davey, Truman Wood, Ray VanSyoc, and Thomas Garbison.
