William Hope, 79, Taken By Death
William Hope, 79, died at his home Friday, Dec. 15, and services were held at the Orr Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, with Dr. C. N. Burrows in charge. Mr. Hope attended the public schools of Indianola and took one term of business course at Simpson College. He went to Montana in early manhood and remained there for 30 years. About 20 years ago he returned to Indianola and lived with his brother, John, and sister, Anna, who died several years ago. Mr. Hope was a lover of flowers and grew the best dahlias in the city. Surviving is his one brother. He never married.

William Oliver Hope, son of Joseph and Mary Hope, was born May 16, 1865, in Indianola, Ia. And died at his home Dec. 15, 1944, after an illness of several months. He was past 79 years old. Mr. Hope attended schools of Indianola and after graduating took one term of business course at Simpson College. In early manhood he left his home community to go out west. He was in the state of Montana for over 30 years. About 20 years ago, he returned to Indianola to retire from active duty on the Montana range. He lived these years with his brother, John. He attended regularly the Smith Bible class of the Methodist church until in recent years. Mr. Hope was a lover of nature and spent much time in his flower garden. He always had beautiful flowers for friend and neighbor. He was a good man, always thinking of others. One brother, Bert, and one sister, Anna, preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn him one brother, John Hope, of Indianola, together with relatives in Atlantic; in California; in Montana; besides his friends and neighbors in this community. Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Orr Funeral Home in charge of Dr. C. N. Burrows.
