William Albert Epps
(June 13, 1921 – March 27, 1923)

The Advocate-Tribune, Indianola, Iowa, Thursday, Apr 5, 1923
William Albert Epps, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Epps, was born June 13, 1921, at Carlisle, Iowa, where his brief little life of only one years, nine months and fourteen days, has been lived. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Fay and Tressa, and two brothers, Frank and Merl, also a number of other relatives and friends.
“Little Junior” as he was called, has been a real joy in the home during his brief stay upon earth, and by his bright and sunny manner, has also won many friends outside the family circle who join in mourning his loss. A few days ago, he was stricken with scarlet fever, from which he suffered intensely, until Tuesday morning, March 27th, 1923, when the little spirit took its flight to be with Jesus who said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
“Oh, what do the angels say? Said the children up in heaven, there’s a dear little boy coming home today. He’s almost ready to fly away, from the earth he used to live in. Let’s go and open the gates of joy. Open them wide for the new little boy, said the children up in heave. God wanted him here, where his little ones meet, said the children up in heaven. He shall play with us on the gold street, he has grown too fair, he has grown too sweet, for the earth he used to live in. He needed the sunshine, this dear little boy, that gilds this side of the gates of joy.” Interment was made in the Carlisle cemetery, following a short service at the grave, conducted by Rev. E. L. Nickle.
