Obituary – Mrs. Mary Nicholson
Mary Louisa Borrall, the daughter of John and Melissa Borrall was born Sept. 5, 1861 near Oskaloosa, Ia., and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Florence Meeker Sept. 22, 1923, at the age of 62 years, 12 days. She was married to Harry Nicholson Oct. 13, 1879. To this union were born ten children: John of near Woodburn, Charley and Virgil at home, Ida Davidson at Carlisle, Esta Goode and Florence Meeker at Indianola, Bertha Wilkinson near Medora. Her husband and son and two daughters preceded her to the better land. Baby daughter, who died in infancy; Lee at the age of eleven years and Mrs. Cora Davidson aged about 31 years. The husband died some 23 years ago. She managed to keep her children all together. Her home was near Medora, but on account of declining health, came to Indianola to be near her doctor. All was done that loving hands could do, but to no avail. All her children were at her bedside at the time of her departure. She leaves to mourn their loss, seven children and two great grandchildren, an aged mother, three sisters and one brother and a host of other relatives and friends. She was converted when but a girl and has kept her faith in her master until the end came. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and friends. Funeral service was conducted at Medora in the M. E. church, Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. W. Frank Lister. Interment was made in the Indian Valley Cemetery.
