Aaron B. Ogden
(December 12, 1859 – September 3, 1923)

Dr. A. B. Ogden died at his home here Monday night, Sept. 3rd. About ten weeks ago he had a stroke of apoplexy and had been in an almost helpless condition since. He was born at East Liverpool, Ohio, December 12, 1859. He graduated from the Ohio Medical College, Cincinnatti in June 1884. He was married to Miss Alice Standish of New Cumberland, West Virginia, September 23, 1884. They located at Mount Ayr where he practiced medicine twenty-five years. They came to St. Charles in November 1922. He leaves his wife, one son, Benjamin L., two grandchildren, George and Mildred; one sister, Mrs. Hannah Slentz; two brothers, J. E. Ogden of Mt. Ayr, and George E. Odgen of Auburn, Ind. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church. Services were held in the church Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. L. Torrence, assisted by Rev. C. E. Wilson, of Osceola. The body was taken to Mt. Ayr on the 1:40 train, where interment was made. Mr. Hover, Mrs. and Mrs. Covington of Des Moines, J. E. Odgen of Mt. Ayr and several friends from Hartford, attended the funeral services. George Ogden of Indiana, arrived on the train on which the friends were leaving for Mt. Ayr.
