Obituary – Raymond W. Duncan
Raymond William, son of Doc and Eva Duncan, was born near Milo, Iowa, November 3, 1896, and departed this life at this home near Runnells at the age of 42 years, 5 months and 8 days. He was enlisted in the World war, September 5, 1918, and was honorably discharged on April 18, 1919.
During the past two years Ray, being in failing health, was unable to do much manual labor and spent considerable time in the house helping his mother to whom he was a great comfort. He was converted in the home on April 4, and expressed his belief in and obedience to God. He leaves to mourn his passing, his father and mother, three sisters, and two brothers as follows: Grace Town of Runnells, Iowa; Floyd at home, Faye Lovelace and Watie Allan of Des Moines, and Merle of Indianola, besides a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church at Runnells, Thursday, April 13, 1939, at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. N. D. Gordon of Indianola. Interment was in the cemetery at Belmont near Milo.
