Janna Elizabeth Martin passed away, Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at her home in Indianola, Iowa at the age of 58. A viewing will be held from 12pm-1:00pm, Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola with a prayer service at 1:00 pm.
Janna was born in Des Moines, Iowa August 14th, 1961 to Jerry and Irene Morton. She graduated from Indianola High School and went on to earn her undergraduate degree at Simpson College and law degree from Drake University. Ten years ago, Janna married Chris Martin in Mary Bethune Beach Florida. She worked for the State of Iowa as the Assistant Director of Workers Compensation for 21 years. Janna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching sports and spending summers watching Chris umpire. She also enjoyed having long talks with Amber and cheering on Antoine at Kansas State.
Janna is lovingly remembered by her husband Chris of Indianola, son Antoine (Laura) Polite of Lawrence, Kansas, daughter Amber Polite of Tampa, Florida; granddaughters, Ayana Polite 9, Milah Polite 6 and Alani Rubin 5, brother Jeff (Krista) Morton, sister Dana Morton, 2 brothers in law, 3 sister in laws and several nieces and nephews. Janna was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials can be made in Janna's name to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
