Lola LaVonne Bullington
(November 9, 1931 - January 1, 2020)

Lola L. Bullington, 88, of Carlisle, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at the Carlisle Care Center. Funeral services for Lola will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Runnells Christian Church in Runnells, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm Monday, January 6, 2020 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Interment for Lola will follow funeral services on Tuesday in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Prairie City.
Lola was born on November 9, 1931 in Prairie City, Iowa to Lawrence and Frances (McCoy) Carter, living most of her young life in Percy, Iowa and Graduating from Monroe high school in 1950. She lived most of her adult life in Runnells, Iowa.
Lola was united in marriage to James Bullington on 1/21/55 to which 4 children were born. Lola and Jim later divorced. Lola worked at Darts Children's Clothing Store, Runnells Elementary, Monaghan and Ross Chemicals and later retired from Monaghan Corp.
Lola was a member of the Runnells Christian Church, an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. She never missed a game if televised. She loved to dance and was a very talented alto vocalist. Lola enjoyed playing darts, camping and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Lola is survived by her four children, Kirby Bullington, Kevin Bullington, Jerry (Deb) Bullington and Sherry (Gary) Johnson; 9 grandchildren, Joshua (Stephanie) Waters, Hailey (Ty) Clark, Lindsey (Matt) Rotert, Courtney (Brandon) Neal, Hannah (Michael) Doolittle Megan (Ronnie) Bullington, Chelsea Bullington, Kayla Bullington, Chet (Kenzie) Bullington and 19 great grandchildren.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Verlin Carter; and sisters, Gerdina Waddle and Mildred Carter.
