(March 4, 1929 - November 29, 2019)

Celebration of Life Services for Ted H. Magnusson, 90, who passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 in Des Moines, will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday prior to services.
Ted was born on March 4, 1929, in Norwalk, IA, to Ted and Mable Magnusson. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1946. He entered the Navy following his graduation and attended the University of Iowa upon his return.
Ted was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing in Canada. He was a Master Gardener, and, along with his wife Ronda, created a garden paradise on their acreage. He loved basketball and was a Drake season ticket holder for 40 years. He and Ronda were known to travel near and far for sporting events of all kinds. RAGBRAI, travel, winemaking, and woodworking were some of his favorite pastimes. Ted was employed for over 35 years by Northwestern Bell/Century Link and was very fond of the many people he worked with. Ted is survived by his wife Ronda; children, Theresa Pagliai and Debbie (Tim) Cook; three grandchildren, Nick Pagliai, Joey (Haylee) Pagliai, Johnathan Cook; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Sanford (Lola) Owens; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ted and Mabel Magnusson and sister Barbara Bumgarner.
A special thank you to Dr. Matthew Hill, Cortney, and the staff at Medical Oncology and Hematology Associates for their wonderful care and concern during Ted’s illness, and to Taylor House Unity Point Hospice for their special care during his final days.
Memorials may be given in Ted’s name to the Indianola Public Library or the Hartford Presbyterian Church.
