There were two deaths here on Christmas; Michael Rippinger [Ripperger] and old Mr. Barnes [John M. Barnes], both well up in years. The former was an old resident of our township, having settled here among the first. He was a German and an honest and worthy citizen. The latter had lived here but a few years.
