(August 26, 1930 - October 12, 2019)

Celebration of Life Services for Donna C. Powell, 89, who passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at home will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, IA.
Donna was born to Coral and Juanita Norton on August 26, 1930 in Osceola, IA.
On December 21, 1952 she married Marion Ivan Powell. They were blessed with two daughters, Debra Sue Young of Indianola and Anita Jo Schoppe of Hardin, Montana.
Donna spent 30 plus years in the banking business. Clarke Community State Bank in Osceola, Capital City Bank in Des Moines and State Bank in Nevada. She also helped out at Wetern Auto in Nevada which she and her husband owned.
Donna is survived by her husband of 67 years; two daughters, Debra Sue Young (Bill Fultz) of Indianola, Anita Jo Schoppe (Randy) of Hardin, Montana; grandsons, Corey (Jen) Piffer, Joey (Jessie) Young, Travis (Jill) Young, Randen (Rochelle) Schoppe, Rhett (Tamika) Schoppe, Ryan (Danielle) Schoppe; granddaughter, Tracie (Jason) Heckinger; 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Toby Young; siblings, Lorraine Leo, Dorothy Strayer and George Norton.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 16 at Overton Funeral home where family will be present to greet friends. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Indianola First Baptist Church in her name.
