Luana J. Doughty
(January 31, 1940 - December 20, 2018)

Luana J. Doughty, 78, passed away on December 20, 2018. A Celebration of Luana’s Life and inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.
Luana was born on January 31, 1940 to Leslie and Magda (Ludeman) Sahl in Denison, IA. She contracted polio when she was 12 and was in the hospital off and on for two years. She graduated from Denison High School in 1958 and was united in marriage to Marlan F. Doughty on August 12, 1961. Luana was a homemaker for most of her life but did some secretarial work as well.
She enjoyed attending sporting events of nieces/great nieces, nephews/great nephews all around the Midwest. Luana, along with Marlan, loved to travel, visiting friends and family throughout the United States along the way. She was devoted to church activities and loved her women’s bible study classes along with attending church as her health and van would allow.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Marlan and her parents. She is survived by her brothers, Kenneth (Kathy) Sahl and Wayne Sahl and her sisters, Connie (Roger) Schwieso and Linda (Lowell) Joslin. Luana will be fondly remembered by her family, many nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, many cousins, and friends. Lets not forget her beloved four-legged companion, Kaiya.
