Florence Jane Lochmiller
(July 12, 1922 - December 21, 2017)

Florence Jane Lochmiller passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Carlisle Care Center. Private graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the Avon Cemetery. Florence was born on July 12, 1922 near Adel, Iowa to Bert and Anna Glenn. Florence lived in the Seattle, Washington area as well as Avon Lake, Des Moines and Florida. She retired after 31 years in 1980 from Des Moines Schools. Florence also taught in rural Dallas and Polk Counties as well as Carlisle. She was a member of Iowa State Education Association, Carlisle United Methodist Church and held a master’s degree in education from Drake University. Florence is survived by her son Sam Jr.(Louise)Lochmiller and their son Douglas of Franklin, North Carolina.; granddaughter, Tina(James)Murray and their children, Jennifer and Kenneth of Sunrise, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Sr. in 1989; parents, Bert and Anna Glenn and her sister Clarice Dildine.
