Florence May Goldsberry
(November 11, 1927 - October 3, 2017)

Florence May (Curry) Goldsberry peacefully slipped away from our hands on Tuesday, Oct 3, 2017 at Taylor Hospice House, Des Moines, IA. Florence was born to Fred & Minnie Curry on Nov 11, 1927 at their home near Carlisle. She was the 7th of nine children raised in the Runnells area.
She was united in marriage to Carol Goldsberry in 1947. To this union three sons were born. They were in farming for 13 years in Runnells, lived in Sigourney for 2 years and moved to Carlisle in 1962. Florence was the elementary lunch room manager and cook for 30 years. She was a member of TOPS, Lioness Club and Carlisle Christian Church.
Survivors include sons Gary of Rockford, IL and Mark (Connie) of Hartford, IA, grandchildren Travis (Stacey) Goldsberry, Josh (Lindsay) Goldsberry, Aubrey (John) Atkin and great-grandchildren Nathan, Aiden, Neriah, Alayna, Tucker, Dillon & Brock and her sister Thelma Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carol, son David, her parents, siblings George, Ben, Glen, Betty DeMoss, June Hayes, Don & Fred Ray.
Funeral Services will be held at Peterson Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct 8 at 2pm with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells, IA and a celebration of life along with snacks at Runnells Christian Church after the interment.
